Best Automatic Dog Feeders
With App Control

Running late at work? Stuck in traffic? Feed your dog with a tap on your phone. We reviewed the best smart feeders for UK dog owners.

By The SmartPetLab Team9 min readUpdated Feb 2026

Automatic feeders aren't just for cats. For dog owners, a smart feeder with app control is a lifesaver when life gets unpredictable.

Unlike cats, dogs (especially Labradors) will try to break into the feeder. And dog kibble is often larger, which leads to jamming in cheaper machines.

We tested the top UK models looking for three things: Smartphone Connectivity, Jam-Proof Mechanisms, and Durability.

Top 3 Smart Dog Feeders

1. Petlibro Granary Camera Feeder (5L)

Petlibro Granary Image

Best Overall. The Granary is our top pick for small to medium dogs. The "anti-clamp" rotor detects jams and reverses automatically. The App is excellent—sending you a push notification immediately if food is low or the WiFi drops.

  • 1080p Camera: Watch your dog eat in real-time.
  • Sealed Tank: Keeps kibble fresh and smell-free.
  • Size Limit: Only fits up to 15mm kibble (Check your bag!).

2. WOPET Smart Feeder (7L)

Best for Larger Dogs. If you have a larger breed or buy large-chunk kibble, the WOPET 7L is a beast. It has a larger dispensing chute and a massive hopper that holds plenty of food.

  • High Capacity: 7 Litres holds weeks of food.
  • Voice Record: Calls your dog to dinner.
  • App: The generic 'Tuya' app is less polished than Petlibro's.

3. HoneyGuaridan Smart Feeder

Best Value. Reliable, sturdy, and cheaper than the others. It lacks a camera, but if you just want to schedule feeds from your phone and get alerts, it does the job perfectly.

What You Need To Know

Security Warning

Smart dogs will knock the feeder over. Always place it against a wall or in a corner. The WOPET and Petlibro have locking lids, but a 30kg Lab can still cause chaos if the unit isn't stable.

WiFi Requirements

Most smart feeders only work on 2.4GHz WiFi. If your router is 5GHz only (rare), you might have connection issues. Check your router settings before buying.
